And the latest work "TU NE DIRS RIEN MOI NON PLUS" a trio which was funded by the DAC Martinique (Direction des Affaires Culturelles) and will be presented during the Biennal in Mai 2014 in Fort de France Martinique.
The creation of ART&FACT came from a need of bringing contemporary dance in Martinique and hopefully open a bridge between the island and the international dance scene. In this endeavor Jean-Hugues Miredin is collaborating with dancer Laurent Troudart with whom he founded the company and shares the stage in the duet "Salut mon frère" DEUX: "Love me tender" 2015-2016 This is the new project from the company ART&FACT. In this project the company will explore the intricate components of couples relationships living in the caribbean. This project is supported by the DAC Martinique (Direction des affaires culturelles) "SHE" or physicality of INtimacy 2015 "SHE" is a show that was born as result of the "I Koncept" workshop investigation. In this piece 7 dancers over 40 years old will explore different aspects of intimacy. The show was presented at CPH Stage 2015 and at the Frie Felts Festival 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The intimacy Project 2014-2015: the intimacy Project is an ongoing project that started in 2013 with the making of the duet "What about intimacy", performed by Jean-Hugues Miredin and Camilla Stage at Dansenscenen(Copenhagen, Denmark) for the "Spot On" Project. This duet depicts the brief meeting of a man and a woman, both looking for closeness while fearing it at the same time. This project was extended into a project called the "I" Koncept, where the idea is to be working with dancers and performers over 40 years old. This project is taking place in Copenhagen, at Dansehallerne and was funded by the Danish Art Council "Statens Kunstråds". "I" Koncept comes in shape of workshops held national and international choreographers such as Jeremy Nelson, Luis Lara Malvacias, Jan Martens, Jean-Hugues Miredin and Camilla Stage. "Tu ne dis rien, Moi non plus" 2013-2014 is a trio based on a study of man and intimacy, this project was founded by the French Art Council "DAC", "Le Conseil Régional, Martinique" and the national stage "L'Atrium". "Mon est le corps de tout le monde" 2015 "Mon est le corps est le corps de tout le monde" is a project where the main focus is on the use of the body and its image in our society. A body hyper sexualized, a body that has become banal, on which everything is allowed from esthetic interventions to severe diets. We are idolizing our image and it has become our main preoccupation. In this project we will be working with people of all ages and gender, able and disable coming from different social background. Some are professional performers and some are amateur, common people. This project is being funded by the French Art Council "DAC, Martinique" and the "Conseil Régional, Martinique. the Chrysalide Project: the "Chrysalide Project" is a solo project that lasted 7 years and 4 solos. The first solo "While you were sleeping" was created for Danish choreographer, camilla Stage and was performed in Denmark for "Dansolution" at Dansenscenen. The second solo "Chrysalide" was created for and performed by dancer Gregory Bruhn. it was performed in different venues in NYC such as "Red shoes festival", "Dance Space NYC"... the third solo "Broken" was performed by Danish dancer Berit Grube and was presented at Dansenscenen and Kanonhallen in copenhagen and Leeds, England as part of the Junge Hunde festival. The fourth solo "Still Point" was performed by Dancer Sita mani in NYC in 2009. The need behind "the Chrysalides Project" was foremost for me a way to define my views as a choreographer and to find a playground for my interest in the body as a moving, breathing life form. i needed the find a way to show it in its complexity and beauty without the use of too much artifacts but only light and music. The project was inspired by artists such Francis Bacon, Odd Nerdrum. |
